White blood cells are a type of cell present in the blood. These are the cells that protect the body from infectious diseases and external harmful effects. These cells are considered to be an important part of the immune system.

These cells present in the body are destroyed and formed in hundreds of seconds every second. They range from 5000 to 11,000 in milliliters of blood per hour of any healthy person. AIDS, cancer and hepatitis etc. may have white blood cell count. However, the number of white blood cells can be easily increased with the help of better diet and medicines.

Types of white blood cells
